Calling all of our new crocheters. You guys asked for a crochet baby bootie class and we are bringing you that and more. In this class you will learn to crochet a set of baby booties, baby hat, or baby sweater. The class will be $26 and will be held Sunday, October 16th from 1:30-3:30. The two hour class will also include 1 skein of everyone’s favorite Berroco Comfort yarn. You will need to bring a size G or H crochet hook.
Learn to make this hat with a little bit of sparkle. It is a little more than a basic pattern with more than a basic yarn. You will learn how to make one if you don’t know how already to create a spiral pattern. You need to know how to work in the round, knit, and purl. The class will be held Saturday, September 10th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and will run $25. Please bring size 7 needles in your choice of double points, 16″ circulars and double points, or you can work the project in magic loop. The class includes 2 balls of yarn and 1 hour of instruction.
We have had several requests to learn cuff down socks. This class will teach you the basics of knitting socks cuff down with a heal flap in a small baby version. This is a 2 part class with the first part being held Saturday, July 30th from 10:30am-12:30pm and the second part being held Saturday, August 6th from 10:30am-11:30am. The class will be $36 and will include the yarn and 3 hours of instruction. You will need to bring size 4-5 double pointed needles.
This class has been designed to teach the basics of how to use double pointed needles. The class is $28 and will be held Saturday, August 27th from 2:30pm-4:30pm. It will include 1 ball of Ella Rae Classic Superwash Chunky and 2 hours of instruction. You need to bring a set of size 10 double pointed needles
Not only will you get to work with beautiful Noro yarn in this class you will learn how to carry your yarn up the side of your project to change colors, and work on a diagnal. The class is $35 and will be held Saturday, July 9th from 1:30pm-3:00pm. It will include 2 balls of Noro Aya and 1.5 hours of instruction, you need to bring size 9 straight or circular needles.

The Beginner Lace class will be held Saturday, May 21st from 10:30am-12:30pm. If you haven’t tried lace knitting before this is a great class to get you familiar with some of the basic techniques. The class will be $30 and you need to bring size 7 straight or circular needles.
The Springtime Bandit Shawl is an intermediate lace, two part class that will be held Saturday, May 21st from 1:00pm-3:00pm and Saturday, June 4th from 1:00pm-2:00pm. The class will run $55 and you will need to pick up your yarn in advance and knit a swatch measuring 4.5 sts=1″ in stockinette stitch. Allison used a size 9-24″ circular, just remember the gauge is what is important not needle size.
If you are wanting to learn a new, fun, interesting, knitting technique try the circle washcloth class. The class will be $35 and will be held Saturday, May 14th from 3:30pm-5:00pm. You need to bring a size 7 knitting needle, straight or circular will work.
While the music is the core of the Norman Music Festival, it is the partnerships that make the festival unique. Dustbowl Arts Market is an art and handmade market that focuses on local commerce, building community and celebrating originality and L & B is excited to be a part of the market at this years Norman Music Festival. L & B will be bringing an array of hand knitted and crocheted projects from all of our wonderful employees. Dustbowl’s goal is to provide a young, energetic, family friendly atmosphere that showcases local and regional artists. Dustbowl’s spring market partners with Norman Music Festival in Downtown Norman. Situated on the corner of Gray & Crawford, Dustbowl will be held Saturday, April 30th from 11 am to 7 pm and is located in what will be the heart of this year’s festival–surrounded by the excitement of the Main Stage, local businesses and delicious food vendors. The fourth annual Norman Music Festival will be held on Thursday 28, Friday 29, and Saturday 30 of April 2011. The festival is free and open to the public and will take place on the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of historic Downtown East Main Street, east of the railroad tracks in the Arts District, as well as the 100 block of West Main. Thursday and Friday night entertainment will be predominantly at indoor locations, and Saturday will feature the full-blown festival atmosphere complete with street closures and large outdoor stages.
