L & B will be hosting our winter knit-a-long beginning Tuesday, November 11th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. We will be knitting Matchmaker by Martina Behm a versatile triangular shaped cowl perfect for keeping you cozy all winter long. You can check out the pattern by clicking here. Martina picked the name “Matchmaker” for this project because she matched two of her favorite hand dyed yarns.
We followed her lead in matching one of our favorite fingering weight merino wools in contrasting colorways, Colinette Yarns Jitterbug. This pattern is suitable for beginners or more advanced knitters because it is all knit in garter stitch, and lets be honest, who doesn’t love knitting in garter stitch. This is quite a large project so we are planning on four meeting dates over a four month time span: November 11th, December 9th, January 13th, and February 3rd. All you need to do to participate is purchase the pattern on Ravelry and buy your yarn at L & B Yarn Co. This KAL is an awesome way to meet fellow knitters. Spaces are limited so please sign up by calling 405-310-3636, e-mailing, or coming by the shop to visit. -B

Please join us Tuesday, September 30th from 5:30pm-7:00pm for our new monthly get together. Bring your favorite completed project or work in process for a show and tell and discussion. This will be a fun time to talk with friends, see cool projects, and get inspired. Don’t worry, there is no pressure to show off projects if you are just wanting to observe. Bring whatever you want to knit/crochet on while others discuss. L & B Yarn Co. will be hosting Fiber with Friends every last Tuesday night of the month, so please join us!
Our final day for toy donations is Friday, August 29th. I am happy to announce that you have outdone yourselves on donations this year. So far we have collected over 60 toys for Positive Tomorrows, this is a record high! I would like to say thank you for your participation in this event. We have enough donations to fill multiple classrooms and your heartfelt stitches are sure to leave children smiling. -B
“I come in peace….” This little Zozo Toy looks like he is talking to you with those tiny knitted fingers. An absolutely awesome toy added to our annual toy drive. I wanted to give everyone an update and say thank you to those who have donated so far. We have over 30 animals submitted and a little over 3 weeks to go. I believe that we will be able to fill multiple classrooms at Positive Tomorrows, an elementary school for the homeless in Oklahoma City, with toys for each child! Remember for each hand-crafted donation, you will receive an entry into a drawing for a $25 L&B Yarn Co. gift card. This Zozo toy was knitted out of Leslie’s leftover Silky Wool from her Color Block Infinity Scarf. This is a great way to put those leftover scraps to good use, if you are interested in knitting this little Zozo just click here to take a look at the pattern. Don’t forget the drawing will be held Friday, August 29th. Thanks for all of your donations and participation in L & B’s Annual Toy Drive! -B
We are moving this weeks F.E.A.T. series to next week Wednesday, August 6th. There will not be a F.E.A.T. gathering this week Wednesday, July 30th. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but, hope to see everyone next Wednesday!! Remember F.E.A.T. is an acronym standing for Fiber, Explanation, and Tea. We are offering the gathering in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 30th from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
The gathering will focus on the current project and we will discuss the why we chose it, offer an abundance of information on the yarn and fiber, conversation, and of course, tea. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it’s entirely free! And not only is it free, but you will also enjoy the benefit of receiving a discount on the featured yarn if you choose to purchase it after the meeting. -B & Michael
We’ve been trying to get a yarn dyeing class on the schedule for a while now and it’s finally here. We will be teaching students how to customize there yarn colorways to create an entirely unique skein of yarn. We are going to be dyeing Cascade Yarn Heritage, a lovely sock yarn in a sturdy blend of 75% superwash merino and 25% of nylon means your socks will last, and be easy to care for, but also soft! This class will teach you the basics of yarn dyeing with only a few simple ingredients and no mess.
The class is $25 and will be held Friday, May 30th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. All the supplies are included in the class students only need to bring a crock pot to dye in, the dye is chemical free so you can still use your crock pot to cook . Students will need to sign up and pay for the class by Thursday, May 29th because of the soaking prep work that has to be done to the yarn prior to the class. I am also encouraging people to bring projects to work on while the dye sets up, the process takes a little while so we will be chatting and knitting between steps. This is going to be fun, I can’t wait to see everyone’s different colorways! -B
