Felted Jack-o-Lantern Bag

Continuing our preparations for Halloween, we decided to dust off the cobwebs from this fun and easy felted Jack-o-Lantern bag.  I absolutely love decorating for Halloween as there are just so many different directions you can take with it. What other holiday gives you so much freedom? You can take either a scary route and decorate with frightening Jack-o-Lanterns, green-faced, pointed nosed witches, and menacing goblins, or you can surround yourself with giant, smiling pumpkins and playful ghosts. Whichever direction you choose, you’re bound to have a blast with it.

If you’re planning on decorating for Halloween with knitted items, it is best to begin sooner rather than later as Halloween is only a month and a half away(I know, I was just as shocked when I realized that myself)! So why not get started with this bag? We used 2 skeins of Cascade 220 wool in orange, 1 skein in green, and scraps of black yarn for the face. Our Jack-o-Lantern is smiling, however feel free to be creative with your face! Because it’s just needle felted on after the bag is complete, you don’t need to make that decision until the very end.

This pattern is available free at our shop with the purchase of the yarn, so if you’re interested in knitting a felted Jack-o-Lantern, just stop by today! -Michael
