Ishbel
Another completed project by amazing Michael, Ishbel by Ysolda Teague, is a simple shawl pattern that can be worked in two sizes and two different yarn weights. The smaller fingering weight version can be worn as a scarf while the larger can be draped elegantly around the shoulders. The one pictured was knit out of Scrumptious Lace a blend of merino wool and silk with an abundant 1093 yards.
This was his first true lace project and he says that it is the perfect project if you’ve never knit lace before. It begins with a ton of stockinette stitch so by the time you reach the lace work you feel comfortable working with the yarn. The solid center also lends simplicity and warmth to the design and it is edged with a beautiful lacy vine pattern and elegant scalloped points. The pattern can be purchased and downloaded from Ravelry just click here. It was also published in Whimsical Little Knits. All I have to say is Gorgeous! -B
