Versatility
Versatility published in Knitty in the Fall of 2008 is a great project to get you in the fall knitting spirit. It also helps you to learn several interesting knitting techniques. The project uses an intricate cable, large bobbles, and a airy lace pattern on the edges to create old world beauty.
On the surface it’s just a large classic scarf or stole, but after you add buttons along one side and ribbon you can get several different garments. A cardigan and a shrug are also options when deciding how to wear Versatility. The project is written as a one size fits all but, by changing the yarn weight you can basically size it to fit any size.
We knitted ours out of Rowan Big Wool, a cuddly soft, quick-knit, 100% merino wool yarn with two soft, fat plies that look and feel like a single strand. If you are looking for a project that will keep you coming back for more you shoulddefinitely try this pattern. With all the different stitches you won’t get bored and you will find yourself wanting to finish, “just one more row”. -B
