Leslie and I have been known to swoon over bags. We love purses, specialty knitting bags, project bags, knitted bags, crocheted bags, back packs, overnight bags, the list goes on and on… So this all purpose summer tote Mom knitted a few weeks back was sure to grab our attention. Apart from being a great eco-friendly alternative to the oh so well known paper or plastic shopping bag, I think it is a great beach or going to the pool bag.
It can be folded and packed up so it won’t take up a lot of space, but at the same time will hold all of your summer gear. You can easily fit towels, a swim suit, sun screen, a change of clothes and your sun glasses. It was knitted out of Patagonia, but if you want a solid color you can use the Nature Cotton by Araucania both are 100% cotton yarn.
Both yarns are bulky weight and the Patagonia being variegated colors is hand painted and doesn’t contain dye lots. The open pattern will keep anything moist from getting yucky and the cotton will dry quickly if it gets wet. You can find the free pattern by clicking here. -B
