Colonnade Shawl

Manos Del Uruguay

When the Colonnade Shawl showed up on Knitty in fall 2009, Leslie fell in love with the pattern and was quick to pick out her bright vibrant colors of Manos del Uruguay and get started.  I remember in only a couple of days she had it here at the shop and we were all drooling over its simple elegance.  Since then I haven’t seen any bad color combination’s and I think it would be just as wonderful in a solid.  T

Manos Del Uruguay

he shapely shawl is a nice contrast to rectangles, squares, and triangles.  The stockinette stitch and a simple lace pattern showcase the yarn and provide structured texture to the garment.  A simple toggle or button and I-cord closure allows the garment to become a capelet or you can opt to wrap it snug around your neck for more of a scarf effect.

Manos Del Uruguay

Knitted out of two colors of Manos del Uruguay’s “Wool” the yarn is deliciously thick and makes for a quick knit.  Once you get started you won’t be able to stop until it’s wrapped around you, ready for the fall chill to come home, which, I am very ready to get here by the way. -B

    Good Morning Ladies,

I just have to write you.. because I am so frustrated.

I have figured out your free patterns. So then I went on to look at your projects. Colonnade Shawl.

Well I sent it to myself and discovered that it is not a free pattern. Fine. So then I come back and try to see what it costs…. I can’t find anything to tell me what the price is or how to go about purchasing the pattern.

Am I just losing it or have you had word of this before ??

Please help me with this site.
    Thank you kindly,
    Linda

    Linda,

I am so sorry you became frustrated while visiting our site. I am happy to explain the site and give you a little bit of information about us. Our blog posts are projects that we (the owners and wonderful employees) get a chance to complete and share. Usually they are projects that we find patterns for on Ravelry or Knitty, every now and then one of us has an idea of our own and those patterns are posted in the “free pattern” section of our blog, that doesn’t happen very often because we are a family owned shop and most of our time goes to keeping our customers happy, our shop running, and our blog updated. Most of the wonderful pattern you see on our blog come from wonderful pattern writers in other areas that are sweet enough to post there patterns online for others to share. Every post has a link to where the patterns are located. Typically if you run your cursor over the green highlighted sections of the post, in this case the first line of the post in the area that says “Colonnade Shawl”, you will see the link, just click, and it should take you straight to the pattern. Or you can type in the following link in your web address bar: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall09/PATTcolonnade.php. Thank you, B
