Baby Booties
I love this baby bootie pattern by Yarnthrower on Ravelry. The booties begins at the cuff and you work down to the bottom of the sole. You start with a a simple knit 2 purl 2 rib pattern, then move onto the foot and toe shapping and then finishing up at the bottom of the bootie with a 3 needle bind off. It is quick, easy, adorable, and best of all there is no seaming! I wanted to use a yarn that would be soft and fuzzy, but would still give some stitch definition.

I decided to pair two of my favorite yarns together to get the exact effect that I was looking for Rowan Yarns Kidsilk Haze and Purelife Organic Cotton. They knitted up just like I had hoped, super soft and with a delicate halo, the yarn combination feels like angora without having the shedding effect you normally get with an angora blend. The original pattern shows a ribbon for a tie around the ankle which would also be cute, but I decided to knit up a 5 stitch i-cord so the entire bootie would be the same color and texture. These would be a great gift for a new baby and can be knitted up in just a couple of evenings. -B
