Worm Scarf

Lumpy Bumpy Yarn

Ever since Lumpy Bumpy from Farmhouse Yarn arrived in the shop I have been excited to find the perfect one skein scarf pattern.  My search was over when I found this free pattern on Ravelry called the Worm Scarf.  It is a quick knit that you create using a form of picot edging to create “worms”, which I think really shows off the beauty and texture of the yarn.  Lumpy Bumpy has bright fun colors to choose from and many people can’t even tell that it is a 99% merino wool plied with 1% nylon to give it that unmistakable texture.

Like I mentioned above I only used one skein and knitted the scarf the same height as I am 5′-3″ (I know I’m short but, not as short as B at 4′-11-1/2″) and I still had 25 grams left of my 150 gram skein.  If you are wanting to learn something new for an edge detail this will give you some good practice on binding on and off.  You could also adjust the pattern to have less or more worms which would make the scarf a little more personalized, but remember the more worms the more yarn it will take.  We hope you have as much fun with this pattern as we did. -Leslie
