Swallowtail Shawl
When Elizabeth brought this shawl into the shop we were all in awe of its delicate beauty and excited to see the new yarn knitted up. I have to say she picked a winning combination. The new Noro Yarn for the spring and summer season “Sekku”, beautifully created in Japan of 50% cotton, 17% wool, 17% nylon & 16% silk is the perfect creation for those who love Noro’s to-die-for color combination’s plus lace knitting.
“Sekku” is a true lace weight or cobweb yarn with each 50-gram ball containing a generous 460 yards. Designed to be knitted & crocheted on small needles & hooks, “Sekku” works equally well on medium-sized tools for a more open-weave, airy effect. The Swallowtail Lace Shawl originally published in the Fall 2006 issue of Interweave Knits, the shawl was a finalist in the Best of Interweave Knits Readers’ Choice Awards contest in the spring of 2008.

A border of lily of the valley adds an interesting counterpoint to the tiny budding lace pattern at the top of this small shawl. This shawl looks great in both solid and semi-solid color lace, fingering, and dk weight yarns. -B

I have a question, if somebody is still here to answer… I have the same yarn and i want to knit this shawl from it. My problem is that the yarns specification is ¨ dry clean¨ . So, how can i soak the shawl , wet it in order to block it? Thank you!
