Crochet Baby Blanket
Spring is here and so are the babies! One of our knitting friends just had her twins and her nursery colors were inspired by a piece of artwork we have hanging in our shop. The piece is bright and cheerful and we always get compliments on how happy the piece makes people as they walk in the door. We want to give a shout out to the local artist, Jason Zaloudik, for his creativity and brilliant use of color–it is our favorite in the shop!
When I found out what colors she was using for her beautiful babies’ room I decided to make crocheted blankets for each twin using Mission Falls 1824 Cotton. Purple, turquoise, and red mixed together make a bright, happy blankie for baby.
I used a basic granny square pattern and changed the colors at different intervals to make them seem different even though they are all the same. After I finished twenty five squares, I single crocheted them together with the middle color of the square (red) and then added a 3 round double crochet border, increasing to create the ruffles. -B

This is beautiful. I haven’t mastered crocheting yet, but this certainly makes me intend to try harder!!

I’m sorry, I kinda just threw it together. I describe what I did in the blog, but I don’t have an actual written out pattern. -B
