Bookworms
If you have time to read between all of your crochet projects this is a fun quick personalized book accessory. The bookworms would also be fun for small children to get them excited about reading or an activity for you to work on together. They are also fun for little ones to play with, when Lisa (Mom) was making them my 3 year old was really having a good time putting them all in a box and pretending they were his pet worms. He was a big help with all the finishing touches for each worm, he adding googly eyes and a bead for the tail.
As you can see from the picture they are all crocheted out of fun bright colors thanks to Mission Falls and their wide range of 1824 cotton color choices. We didn’t crochet any out of the variegated 1824 cotton, but can you imagine how fun a blue and yellow or pink and orange pet would be?
This pattern designed by Mary Griffin was published in Crochet World Magazine in the Christmas Jubilee! issue. After you have finished your worms you can give them away as gifts to all of your “bookworm” friends. -B

Sorry for the late reply. The pattern was actually in a crochet magazine, but if I bet if you do a long chain followed by a series of crochet increases you can get them close!

This is too funny I used to make these in junior high school. Learned the pattern from a librarian for the small town I lived in. These are fun to make and if you add the eyes the move they are even cutier.
