Spring Slippers
I have some big bulky felted slippers that B made me a couple of Christmas’s ago. They keep my feet nice and toasty, I love them! What happens when the weather starts to get spring like and I need something with a little less weight and warmth. I found some slipper patterns that I liked but of course I had to make them easier for a beginner like myself.
I wanted something that would look a little more feminine and a little less bulky. My favorite pair of spring time shoes are Jessica Simpson Leve Flat, because they are super comfortable and cute like ballet slippers. Now that I had decided what the design would look like it was time to decide on what yarn to use. My final decision was to use the Mission Falls 1824 Wool because it is a super wash, worsted weight, and would be soft on my feet without any socks. After I was finished crocheting the petite slippers I thought they needed a little accent. I spent several hours trying to crochet a flower and finally decided that I should just call up my friend Misty, the crochet specialist.
Not to my surprise she had both flowers finished and ready to go before I had even finished the second slipper. The final product turned out just like I wanted. The slippers are the perfect cute, lightweight slippers to wear around the house all spring long. –Leslie

These are so CUTE! I crocheted them with jitterbug and a smaller (MUCH smaller) hook for my daughter. She has dubbed them her “princess ballerina” slippers and even tried to wear them in the bath. Great pattern!
